Mike is originally from Queens, N.Y. but moved to Long Island where he grew up. After serving in the military (Navy), meeting his wife Margie, who was instrumental in bringing Christ into his life, he eventually decided to go into full time ministry. After ministering in New jersey for 2 years God opened the door in New York where he served the church there for 13 years. After this he was called to Columbus Ohio were he continued ministering there for another 8 years. Hes has done mission work in Barnaul Russia and is a graduate of the Sunset School of Preaching in Lubbock Texas. He is currently the pulpit minister and one of the Shepherds here at the Pine Valley Church of Christ. He has been here since October 2004. He's been married to his beautiful wife, Margie, for 33 years. He also has 3 daughters, Brooke who is 32 and lives in Raleigh, Elizabeth who is 9, and Allison who is 7. Mike and his wife have done foster care for most of their married lives and have had over 50 children in their home (two of which they have adopted).
Robert (Herky) P. Hardison, Jr.
Herky was born in Lewisburg, TN (1937). He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy (1961) and served 20 years in the U.S. Navy. After retiring from the Navy, Herky worked for the Department of the Navy as a Civil Service engineer for 20 more years. After retiring from the government in 2005, he moved to Wilmington, NC to be close to his daughter and her family.
Herky was baptized in the Atlantic Ocean at Virginia Beach, VA on 7 April 1974 by Melvin Vaughan. He served as a deacon and an elder at the Norfolk Church of Christ, Norfolk, VA for 30 years. He has been serving as an elder at Pine Valley Church of Christ since September 2006.
Herky is married to his high school sweetheart, Gayle Thompson (David Lipscomb ’59) in June 1961. They have two children, a son Rob (Harding University ’88) and a daughter Dixie (David Lipscomb ’88). Herky enjoys being with his granddaughters, Shelby and Sara, gardening, and playing golf.
His favorite scripture is Romans 8:38-39
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
David Burns has served as a Pine Valley Church of Christ deacon since 2001 in various capacities, currently as Men's Ministry Deacon. The focus of Men's Ministry is to promote fellowship between brothers and advancing the cause of Christ through various activities. David also co-facilitates Dynamic Marriage Classes with his wife, Bonny..
He and Bonny have been married since 1986. They have three sons. Cody, born in 1987, and identical twins, Jesse & Luke, born in 1990. David works in the pharmaceutical industry.
